One Elmwood Student Centre

What’s in One Elmwood Student Centre?

One Elmwood Student Centre is the largest venue for Q-Con. The Student Centre is divided between Queen’s University, Queen’s Students’ Union and External Retail Partners.

Who and where are the External Retail Partners?

Both the SPAR Union Shop and the Social (Café) located on the Ground Floor of One Elmwood.

Queen’s Students’ Union

What’s in Queen’s Students’ Union?

09:30-18:00 Saturday & Sunday

Videogames are spread across a number of Student’s Union clubrooms, with Casual Play in The Cube, Blue Sky Room and Little Block Room and Tournaments are being held in Drawing Room, The Cube, Light Room and Sunset Room.

Retro Games are located in Big Block Room and Light Room.

Indie Games will be split into two areas, chat with established local developers and try their games at the 🕹️ NI GAMES SHOWCASE. Want to try games being built by up-and-coming hobby developers, then checkout Play My Demo! Both will be located in the First Floor Foyer and the Student Information Point.

We also welcome some great Charities & Associations to Q-Con. If you would like to speak to them and find out more they will be located in the Main Foyer.

For the first time at Q-Con, Hacker Battle Bots will be hosting two events in the Ground Floor Atrium.

Mandela Hall

What’s in Mandela Hall?

09:30 - Late Saturday & 09:30 - 18:00 Sunday

Mandela Hall will host a mix of events across the Q-Con Weekend, from key Cosplay Events, like the Variety Show and Cosplay Masquerade to Social Events including Dice'N'Drinks and the IVGO Concert!

Just outside the Hall, in the Foyer, you will find the Cosplay Info Desk and the Cosplay Repair Station.

Annex/Wee Bar

The Union Bar

What’s in Annex/Wee Bar and The Union Bar?

09:30 - Late Saturday & 09:30 - 18:00 Sunday

This year the Annex/Wee Bar will play host so a great selection of events, including our Battle of the Bards (Rockband), Anime Events, Panels and KPOP.

Make sure to grab a ticket on Saturday afternoon for the Pub Quiz on Saturday night before they sell out. Remind your friends too, so that you have the strongest team; then join us in The Union Bar for your chance to win!

Whitla Hall

South Dining Hall

What’s in Whitla Hall And South Dining Hall?

09:30 - 18:00 Saturday & Sunday (Last Entry 17:30)

Both located adjacent to the main Lanyon Building, the Whitla Hall makes its return and will be the central hub of Q-Con this year. The Whitla Hall foyer will be your first port of call, as it’s where Main Registration will be stationed. Come and collect your Wristband so you can enjoy the rest of the Con.

Once inside, the Main Hall will once again be host to the Q-Con Trade Hall.

This years Trade Hall is even bigger than before - continue on to the South Dining Hall, to the Left of the Whitla Hall, and you’ll find even more great Traders!

Elmwood Hall

What’s in Elmwood Hall?

09:30 - 17:30 Saturday & Sunday (Last Entry 17:30)

Worry not, fans of Artists’ Alley, this year we had an unbelievable number of applications, way more than South Dining Hall could ever handle! Even moving into Elmwood Hall wasn’t enough to space to give everyone a space, but we’ve invited as many as we could, so there should be even more great art than ever before.

Also, if you are interested entering one of our great Art Competitions, make sure you drop by the Elmwood Hall Foyer at some point over the weekend.

That’s not all, also in a new bigger and better location, the Photography Studio will be in the Elmwood Kitchen at the left of the Hall.

Lanyon Building

What’s in the Lanyon Building?

09:30 - 18:00 Saturday & Sunday

The Lanyon Building is what most people picture when they think of Queen’s University, and once again is the home of Collectable Card Games at Q-Con!

Drop into the Great Hall to find a selection of Games hosted by Northern Card Gaming.

Want to see what Replay Games has to offer, visit them in Canada Room/Council Chamber.

Wargames more your thing? The Senate Room will be play host to both Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar.

Don’t forget, visit the paved area in front the Lanyon building on Saturday Afternoon for Campus Food and Drink’s Food Market.

Peter Froggatt Centre

Main Site Tower

What’s in the Peter Froggatt Centre & Main Site Tower?

09:30 - 18:00 Saturday & Sunday

This year the Peter Froggatt Centre is back, this time as the home of Tabletop Gaming. Even CCGs are making an appearance, with Dragonscale Card Gaming setting up in the PFC! In Addition the PFC is also the home of the remaining Wargames, as well as all of the Role Playing Games and Board Game Touranments. The Peter Froggatt Centre Foyer and Main Site Tower Foyer will host Casual Board Game Play over the whole weekend.
